      Locks have been widely used in our daily life in the past thousands of years. The splitting spring lock is most popular one in ancient Chinese. It uses the simple elasticity and the clever dimensions to tie in with the design of key. The locking and opening functions are generated. According to the outer shapes, the splitting spring locks have two types including broad lock and pattern lock. The front side of broad lock is of the shape of the character "凹". Pattern locks were widely used for locking drawers, closets, and chests, … etc. Exploring the linguistic origin of the pattern locks, "Hua (花)" means “floral pattern” and "Qi (旗)" means "represent". Pattern locks get their names from the various, peculiar shapes of the locks. They can be roughly classified into the types of human figures, animals, musical instruments, letters, utensils, and others. The outer appearance of pattern locks is not just for special intentions and good fortunes, but also carries the purpose of decoration. Most pattern locks are made of bronze.
