Plywood for Paper Back Binding: a hand tool used to hold papers while binding books. Pile up the papers which have been correctly folded and collated; put the stack of paper between the upper and lower plywood and bind the stack tightly with ropes. This is a hand tool used to flatten book leaves before they are fed into a stamping machine.

The plywood for paper back binding belonged to Dadi Printing Company founded in the 1950s. It is an auxiliary hand tool for flattening book leaves before they are fed into a saddle stitching stamping machine (T0199904012). There are four notches located on the corners of the plywood through which ropes can pass to tightly clamp the book leaves.
