      A calibrator used to inspect the volume in the Japanese colonization period
    • Characteristics:
      This narrow-necked graduate is an instrument used to inspect if the container met the standard of volume in the Japanese colonization period by the Inspection Institute of Weight and Measures, the Monopoly Bureau of Taiwan Governor-General's Office. It had been used until the early period after the retrocession of Taiwan. The instrument used to inspect fuel dispensers and other fluid receiving containers is this kind of graduate. The Museum has collected six of them with four kinds of capacity: five liters, two liters, one gallon and one peck. The material of their interior is glass with its lower part covered with wooden matter and its upper part cladded with metal. They were donated to the National Science and Technology Museum by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, M. O. E. A. in 2001.
